Banner Advertising is a legitimate, cost-effective medium
for gaining exposure and branding your on-line enterprise.
Very little work is required after initial implementation.
You
firstsign
up for our program and join the list of members who
agree to place banner ads on their site for the opportunity
of placing their banner ads on other members' sites. As
a member, you can change
your profile or password at any time.
You
design and upload a banner to us. [G-rated banners for
G-rated sites.] You may change
your banner at any time. You agree to permit MaineBanner
Exchange to advertise your site wherever it deems fit
during your membership during this program. You also agree
to permit MaineBanner Exchange to list your URL and
site information in publicity relating to the MaineBanner
Exchange Program. Your banner must not exceed 20k
in file size. The
dimensions must be the industry standard of 460 pixels wide
by 60 pixels high
You
prominently display fellow members' banners on your site
by inserting
the unedited code which we give you when you sign up.
We ask that if you can't place our banner at the top of
your page, please place it somewhere visible when a user
first downloads your page. The result ends up like the banner
you see at the top of this page. You agree not to insert
this code on pages unrelated to the site you are advertising
with your banner.
Standards.
We accept only G-rated advertisements for G-rated sites.
This means your site must be viewable by the General audience,
including small children. We cannot accomodate sites or
banners displaying or containing links to: pornography,
violence, strong language, nudity, partially dressed women/men,
bathing suit/lingerie, etc. .
For every hit to your site, you receive one credit toward
display of your banner in our program. For every full credit
your banner is advertised somewhere else.
You may use MaineBanner Exchange for FREE. There
are additional benefits if you become a member of Maine-Alliance.
You receive continuous access to your statistics
indicating how many hits to your site we have recorded,
how many times your banner has been displayed, and how many
click-throughs to your site have resulted.
Fraud. As a member, you agree not to over-inflate
hits to your site by placing more than one banner on your
page at a time (for example, placing your HTML code repeatedly
on one page to inflate counts is forbidden), or by using
other devices, programs, or other mechanisms. You agree
not to place our banner on a page that automticaly reloads
or goes to another page without interaction from a user
(i.e. client pull or server push). If you willfully attempt
to defraud MaineBanner Exchange by violating this
stipulation you agree to re-imburse MaineBanner Exchange
for the cost of administration of your site's banners, not
limited to but including: cost of server through-put for
each banner fraudulently downloaded to your site by the
devices mentioned above, reimbursement to MaineBanner
Exchange for both the banners you obtained illegally
as well as the banners wasted by display on your site at
a rate of $10.00 US per thousand banners, administration
fees pertaining to tracking your site and discovering your
fraud, and all legal and collection fees. You also agree
to indemnify MaineBanner Exchange for all losses
incurred due to your fraud.
Revenue. All revenue collected through the sale
of advertising on your site through the MaineBanner Exchange
Program remains sole property of MaineBanner Exchange
[This means that if we sell some of the ads which appear
in the course of our normal banner rotation, we keep the
revenue. It is how we fund the program.]
Copyrights and Trademarks. The MaineBanner Exchange
name, logo, software, insertion code, and service remain
the property of MaineBanner Exchange. Members use
of these properties must fall only within the context of
this agreement.
Agreement. This is the entire agreement. By signing
up and becoming a member of MaineBanner Exchange
you acknowledge your agreement to these terms and conditions.
You can withdraw at any time. Just send a message with the
word "withdraw" in the subject to: withdraw@MaineBannerExchange.comMaineBanner Exchange.reserves the right to alter
this program and its accompanying terms and conditions at
any time without notice.
Warranties.MaineBanner Exchange MAKES NO WARRANTIES REGARDINGTHIS
SERVICE. MEMBERS AGREE TO USE THIS SERVICE AT THEIR OWN
RISK.
